Travelling to Italy
On arrival in Italy, visitors must show a valid national passport or other document satisfactorily establishing their identity and nationality. The passport must be valid for at least six months after date of arrival.
In addition to a passport, visitors to Italy may also need a visa.
Depending on your citizenship or country of long-term residence, you may need to secure a visa before traveling to Italy. All visas must be obtained at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country of long-term residence. Visas are not available at the border or at the airport.
To find out what your particular visa requirements are please visit the official website of the Italian foreign ministry.
Should you need a visa to travel to Italy, you will need to officially apply for your visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence, providing a letter of invitation. The letter of invitation establishes the purpose of your trip to Italy and provides information on your proposed stay in Italy.
The EGA Organizing Secretariat can assist you with obtaining a letter of invitation.
