Halls painted in the late 1500s host the rich collection of classical antiquities. In the new pavilion one can admire the gilded bronze statue of Marcus Aurelius, the Roman she-wolf, symbol of the Eternal City, as well as the impressive remains of the temple of Jupiter that once stood on this spot.

From the Tabularium, the Roman state archives, located between the ancient building and the new pavilion of the museums, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Roman Forum with monuments such as the Curia, the Arch of Septimius Severus, and the remains of the largest temples of the imperial age.
